DAY 18: MOTHER TIME

§

Glo/NaPoWriMo's needs more time than I had to give it today.
Drove to Nelson, which proved to be a bit of a challenge as a mudslide came down just past the Brilliant Dam this morning so traffic had to go via Pass Creek. Given the amount of snow up in the hills I expect this is just a start on interesting weather-related events.

Nearly forgot to do a poem today! Here's another #bookspinepoem, brought to you by moms everywhere, as well as poets Joanne Arnott, Julie Bruck, Di Brandt, Evelyn Lau, David W. McFadden, Barry DempsterLesléa Newman, and Allen Ginsberg

Howl...best labour poem ever. My old friend Joan Webb, whereabouts unknown to me now, sadly, typed Howl for me after Seamus and I endured 22 long hours of labour before he made his first howl in Nelson General Hospital, October 2, 1987. I still have those pages!
I love your spine poems, Linda!

Wow, typed it all out. How "old school"! I've never thought of it — Howl — as being a labour poem before, but indeed why not? And good lord, Seamus is 30?!?! How is it they do this to us? Glad you like the spine poems. Turns out they're an awful lot of fun to create (and I do have a ridiculous number of books to work with). Thanks for reading, Caro. xo
